Poinsettia sales underway

A poinsettia sale is taking place to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County. These 6-inch plants come in white, red and pink, and cost $12 each. Call or text 716-698-29334 to place an order. The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County serves more than 600 youth annually across the region. It is a United Way agency.

Christmas lighting contest

Stockton will host a Christmas lighting competition. Applications are available at the Stockton and Cassadaga libraries and the town clerk’s office, and should be returned by 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15. Applications can also be entered by calling the clerk’s office at 716-595-3192 ext. 1. Send an email to [email protected]. Or drop it off at Stockton Town Hall.

A 3-D printing basics course will be offered

SILVER CREEK — Anderson-Lee Library will host an information session about the basics of 3-D Printing on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. This class is for all ages and will explain what a 3-D printer can do as well as the types of objects that you can print. It’s great for more than just toys! You can see the printer at work and learn how it can be used for all kinds of projects. All who attend the class have a chance of winning a Galaxy Tab A Tablet.

St. Rose Society cookie sale begins

The ladies of the St. Rose Society are planning to bake the best Christmas cookies you can buy now that the holidays have begun.

Both members of the parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel come together to have a little fun and also do a lot of work in order to give these delicious, festive gifts.

Orders for a one-size cookie tray are being accepted now. They will be ready on Saturday, December 17. Cookies will be baked earlier in the week. They will include decorated cutouts and press cookies, as well as many other varieties that can be wrapped for gift-giving or personal pleasure.

A tray of 50 cookies costs $25. For $16 per pound, you can also get a separate tray of fresh Cucidatti (Italian-fig cookies), which are also wrapped and ready to gift.

Call or text Teresa Edwards at 716 316-9821, or Aimee Rogers (716) 870-5087 to order cookie trays by December 11. Orders placed after December 11th, will be placed on a wait list. This means that we cannot guarantee the order will get filled. So place your orders early!

The St. Rose Society is known for its cookies and dinners. But, they are also well-known for their mission work in the local community.

These cookies will be sold to raise money for the women’s work. They have already donated to food pantries in Forestville, Silver Creek, St. Gianna Pregnancy Outreach Center, to help needy families in the area, to missions in Latin America and other needs in the Catholic Churches.
